Lisa Nunez Safarian

Lisa Nunez Safarian is a CEO-Partner at Flagship Pioneering and Chief Executive Officer of Inari Agriculture. Lisa has dedicated her career to advancing agriculture and helping farmers achieve better outcomes, with three-plus decades in key commercial, product development, and strategy roles at market leaders and beyond.
Prior to assuming the role of CEO, Lisa served as an Independent Director for Inari beginning in May 2025. Previous board positions include Independent Director for RiceTec, the pioneering leader in research, development, and production of sustainable rice agriculture, and the first Independent Director on the Board of Pivot Bio, the leading nitrogen innovator in agriculture.
From 2022 to 2024, Lisa served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Pivot Bio. Between 2018 and 2020, she served as President, North America for Bayer Crop Science and as a member of Bayer’s Global Executive Circle. Previously, she spent 32 years at Monsanto, most recently as Vice President, North America, where she helped build Monsanto’s $12 billion seeds, traits, licensing, and crop protection businesses and participated as a member of the Monsanto Executive Team Operations Council.
Lisa has served on several non-profit boards, including the Board of Trustees – National 4-H Council, Saint Louis University’s Boeing Institute of International Business, CropLife America, and CropLife Canada. She holds both an MBA and a B.S. in Business Administration/Business Information Systems from Southern Illinois University.
