Eric Keen

Eric Keen joined Flagship Pioneering in 2022 after completing the 2021 Flagship Fellowship. As part of Jake Rubens' venture creation team, Eric works to launch and build transformative platform companies in health and sustainability. Eric co-founded Serif Biomedicines and another Flagship company still in stealth, helping shape their platforms, R&D efforts, teams, partnerships, fundraising, and intellectual property.

Eric earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology and Microbial Pathogenesis from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. His graduate research leveraged multi-omics approaches to disentangle complex interactions between pathogens, microbiomes, and immune systems. Eric also holds a B.S. in Biology with highest honors from the University of Miami, where he was a Barry M. Goldwater Scholar.
