Water treatment and desalination innovator sets the stage for continued growth in 2014

BOSTONOasys Water, a world leader in innovative solutions for water treatment and desalination, has announced expansion of its global sales force and facility space at its corporate headquarters in Boston, Mass. The news follows closely on the heels of the recent announcement that Oasys closed a pivotal deal in the water industry, with an agreement to supply the largest forward osmosis system in the world to oil and gas equipment and service provider National Oilwell Varco (NOV).

“To keep pace with the increasing demand for our products worldwide and to accommodate new products on the horizon, we have grown our commercial team and our research, development and manufacturing facilities," said Jim Matheson, president and CEO of Oasys Water. “By strengthening the team and capabilities, we will be well positioned to maintain a leadership role in developing and deploying technologies to treat the world’s most difficult waters."

Oasys marked several key milestones in 2013 including closing their Series B financing from strategic investors and announcing partnerships in both the China water market and in the global oil and gas produced water market. On the intellectual property front, Oasys continued its rapid pace of engineering development, filing more than 45 patent applications worldwide on core aspects of its forward osmosis platform for a total of 184 pending applications. In addition, Oasys had eight patents issued in 2013, for a total of 22 patents issued globally. The company also grew its team by more than 50 percent with new talent added across sales, marketing, engineering, research and manufacturing.

Oasys has doubled its office space in Boston and expanded its research and development space allowing the company to increase its already impressive capabilities to test challenging waters, develop new membrane chemistries and processes, and test larger scale system configurations. In addition to its offices in Boston, Oasys also operates a facility in Somerset, Mass., to demonstrate its pioneering forward osmosis systems, and has commercial operations in Beijing, China and the southwestern United States.
