Young Guang

Young joined Flagship Pioneering in 2024. In his role, Young works closely with Flagship’s Pioneering Business Units to help shape their companies’ strategy, bringing together his experience in biotechnology commercial strategy and academic scientific training.

Young brings years of life sciences consulting to this role. He previously worked at Putnam Associates in Boston, where he advised companies in early-stage venture, biopharma, and venture capital/private equity spaces, with a specialty in novel technologies.

Young received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in Saint Louis in 2021. His PhD work focused on developing models of drug efflux post intra-articular injection to help develop better arthritis therapies.

Young also holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, both from Boston University.
