Rob Treut

Rob Treut joined Flagship Pioneering in 2026 as Vice President, Legal. As a member of the Strategic Transactions team, he advises Flagship and its platform companies on the structuring, negotiation, and execution of complex collaborations, licenses, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other partnering transactions. He also provides legal counsel on strategic and operational matters across the Flagship ecosystem, throughout the partnership lifecycle.

Prior to joining Flagship, Rob was Senior Counsel at AbbVie, where he advised the business development group on high-profile collaboration and M&A transactions across therapeutic areas. He previously practiced in the Boston office of Ropes & Gray, representing life sciences clients ranging from emerging biotechs to multinational pharmaceutical companies in licensing, collaboration, and other corporate transactions. Earlier in his career, Rob held domestic and international roles managing programming and acquisitions for a major media company.

Rob holds an A.B. in Economics from Brown University and a J.D. with honors from The University of Texas School of Law.
