Ray Charest

Ray Charest joined Flagship Pioneering in 2020 as Vice President of Finance, Pioneering Medicines. In this role, he works closely with the Pioneering Medicines leadership team providing financial and operational management to Pioneering Medicines’ emerging group of companies.

Ray brings more than 25 years of deep financial management experience in both technology companies and life science venture capital. He joined Flagship Pioneering from AirTank, Inc. where he served as the company’s first Chief Financial Officer. Prior to AirTank, Ray served as Chief Financial Officer for Collision Communications, Inc., Flashpoint Technology, Inc. and for 15 years at Oxford Bioscience Partners, a life science venture capital firm. In addition, Ray held senior financial positions with MPM Capital L.P., ADSmart Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CMG Information Services, and MVP Ventures, a Boston – based venture capital firm. Ray began his career in the Entrepreneurial Services Group in the Boston office of Ernst and Young providing audit and advisory services.

Ray holds an A.B in Mathematics and Economics from Bowdoin College, an M.S in Accounting from Northeastern University and an M.S. in Taxation from Bentley University.
