Rajib Mukherjee

Rajib Mukherjee joined Flagship Pioneering in 2022. Rajib leads research initiatives for Flagship’s Pioneering Medicines across multiple modalities related to obesity-associated metabolic disorders.

Rajib brings over a decade of research experience and knowledge in the metabolic and inflammatory aspects of adipose tissue dysfunction and fatty liver diseases. Prior to Flagship, he held multiple research positions at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center where he investigated the immune-metabolic functions of thermogenic adipocytes employing a combination of in vitro and in vivo systems. Previously, Rajib has also investigated the roles of diverse immune mediators in the progression of fatty liver disease.

Rajib received his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Daegu University, South Korea; his M.Sc. & B.Sc. from Visva Bharati University, India; and his postdoctoral research fellowship was supported by the American Heart Association. Rajib’s research has resulted in more than 20 publications.
