Rachel Roberts

Senior Director, Communications and Public Affairs

Rachel Roberts joined Flagship in 2020 where she leads an institutional communications team responsible for internal communications, digital and social media, and creative content. She also manages communications for Flagship’s Pioneering Medicines, helps lead company-wide initiatives and strategic priorities, and manages operations for the Communications and Public Affairs unit.

Rachel was previously the director of the social impact practice at Clarendon Group, a consulting firm focused on communications, strategy, and social impact. She supported a number of clients across the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Templeton World Charity Foundation, Women Political Leaders, and Tufts University.

Prior to Clarendon Group, Rachel worked at The Rockefeller Foundation where she was Director of Global Policy and Advocacy working closely with grantees and partners on communications campaigns, convenings, and creative content including podcast and video production. In this capacity she also served as chief of staff to the Senior Vice President and oversaw grants management for the department. Rachel was previously a senior analyst at Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory at the Earth Institute of Columbia University where she developed programmatic, operational, and financial analyses to inform executive decision making and management. She began her career with Nature’s Classroom, an environmental science education program in New England.

Rachel holds a B.A. in biology and religious studies from Colgate University and an M.P.A. in environmental science and policy from Columbia University.
