Prakyath Kantharaju

Prakyath Kantharaju joined Flagship Pioneering in 2025 as a Machine Learning Engineer with Pioneering Intelligence. In this role, he works on agentic AI systems that drive drug discovery and biomedical innovation.

Before joining Flagship, Prakyath completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where his research focused on wearable robotics and the personalization of exoskeletons using machine learning. His patented work led to more than 15 peer-reviewed publications spanning major biomedical and robotics journals and conferences.

In prior roles, Prakyath contributed to foundation vision-language model development, AI orchestration pipelines, and LLM applications. He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a specialization in robotics and machine learning.
