Neel Patel

Neel Patel joined Flagship Pioneering in 2025 as Head of NewCo Business Development, where he leads partnerships and strategy efforts supporting a portfolio of pioneering companies. He and his team develop industry-leading best practices in sell-side business development, advance innovative approaches to value creation, and drive strategic collaborations across the biopharma ecosystem within Flagship’s company-creation model.

Neel brings more than 25 years of experience in biotechnology business development, corporate strategy, and portfolio transactions. Before joining Flagship, he led the Portfolio Strategy & Transactions and Commercial Strategy practices at Syneos Health Consulting. Earlier, he held senior roles at Mercer Management Consulting and Kearney, led corporate venture and BD initiatives at Roche Diagnostics, and began his career in investment banking focused on M&A and licensing in biotech and pharma.

He holds a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
