Marcus Chapman

Marcus Chapman joined Flagship Pioneering in 2022 as Senior Vice President of Finance. Marcus serves as a strategic business partner to the senior leadership of Flagship’s ProtoCos and NewCos and provides day-to-day financial guidance and operational oversight to deliver value across Flagship Labs and the Flagship Enterprise.

Marcus brings two decades of biopharmaceutical industry experience to his role. Prior to joining Flagship, Marcus was at Flagship-founded Seres Therapeutics for seven years where he held roles of increasing responsibility. He was most recently Senior Vice President of Corporate Operations and led special projects for the CEO. He was previously Principal Financial Officer responsible for finance, accounting, treasury, and facilities.

Marcus also served at Takeda Oncology where he was a Senior Director of Finance and Interim Head of Finance. Prior to Takeda, he was at Clarion Healthcare Consulting and Strategic Decisions Group. He began his career at LaSalle Partners in their Investment Banking and Investment Management groups.

Marcus received his B.A. in Economics from Wheaton College and his M.B.A. from The Tuck School at Dartmouth.
