Jack Kirsch

Associate

Jack Kirsch joined Flagship in 2023 as an Associate following the completion of the 2022 Flagship Pioneering Fellowship. Jack is part of a team of scientist-entrepreneurs originating and building first-in-class platform companies. In his role, he is involved with all aspects of company creation, including ideation, intellectual property, research and development strategies, business development, and team building.

Prior to joining Flagship, Jack was a Ph.D. student in Professor Mark Grinstaff’s translational research lab at Boston University. His work focused on blending advanced drug delivery strategies, synthetic biology, and RNA therapeutics to create treatments for diseases spanning musculoskeletal conditions, fibrosis, and oncology. Motivated by research that has the potential to rapidly translate to therapeutic impact for patients, during his Ph.D., he held both operational and founding roles in biotech start-ups where he led intellectual property development, fundraising efforts, and managed external research relationships. He is the author of over a dozen patents and scientific publications, including articles in journals such as Science Translational Medicine and Science Advances.

Jack received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University and his B.Eng. in Biological Engineering from Dartmouth College.
