Dalit Engelhardt

Associate

Dalit Engelhardt joined Flagship Pioneering as an Associate with the Pioneering Intelligence initiative after completing the Flagship Fellowship as an AI Fellow. At Flagship, Dalit works to originate and implement AI-first venture ideas and capabilities and to explore novel avenues to innovation through AI-driven technologies.

Before joining Flagship, Dalit was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she focused on the development of innovative computational approaches to address challenges in precision medicine. As part of her research, she developed novel AI-based methods for the prediction and control of drug resistance and evolutionary adaptation and led research efforts on cancer therapy optimization. She was a MIT Innovation Initiative Impact Fellow and served on the organizing committee of the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences Postdoctoral Association.

Dalit holds a PhD in Physics from UCLA, where she was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. Her graduate research focused on spacetime emergence and non-equilibrium quantum systems in the context of the holographic correspondence in string theory. During her PhD, she completed research fellowships at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Amsterdam. Dalit also holds a MSc in Pure Mathematics from Imperial College London.
