Beth O'Brien

Beth O’Brien joined Flagship Pioneering in 2025 and serves as a Senior IP Paralegal. In this role, she provides paralegal support to Flagship’s complex IP portfolios and works with our Flagship IP Attorneys on all areas of patent prosecution. She also assists the finance and investment teams with requests for IP documentation as needed for financing and reporting obligations.

Prior to joining Flagship, Beth worked at Novartis (Vaccines and Institute for Biomedical Research divisions) and Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior IP Paralegal. Most recently, she was IP Manager for an Amazon aggregator startup, Perch. She has been working in Intellectual Property support for over 20 years.

Beth has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Fordham University. She has a Paralegal Certificate from Boston University and a certificate in EP/UK Patent Administration from The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) based in London, UK.
