Austin Van Namen

Austin Van Namen joined Flagship Pioneering in 2025 as an Associate Director of Business Development. In this role, he leverages his scientific and consulting expertise to develop deal-making strategy and drive business development initiatives across the Flagship ecosystem.

Prior to joining Flagship, Austin was a consultant at L.E.K. Consulting, where he focused on life sciences strategy. In this role, he led a diverse set of engagements spanning corporate strategy, portfolio optimization, transactional due diligence, and advanced business analytics. Austin also previously worked in academic licensing and business development at Vanderbilt's Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization.

Austin earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Dartmouth College, where his research focused on medical imaging and targeted drug delivery. He also holds a B.E. in Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University.
