Andrea Devoe

Andrea Devoe joined Flagship Pioneering in 2025 as a Vice President, Legal, and serves as Head of Strategic Transactions. She leads a team responsible for advising Flagship and its platform companies on the structuring, negotiation, and execution of complex collaborations, licenses, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. In addition, Andrea counsels across the Flagship ecosystem on the legal, operational, and strategic implications of these transactions over their lifecycle, including post-closing implementation, governance, and dispute resolution.

Andrea brings more than 15 years of law firm and in-house experience as a life sciences transactional attorney and legal team leader. Most recently, she served as Senior Associate General Counsel and Co-Head of the Legal Transactions Team at AbbVie, where she advised the Business Development organization on mergers, acquisitions, licenses, collaborations, and other strategic transactions. Prior to AbbVie, Andrea was Senior Counsel at Sanofi, advising its Global Business Development team on complex licensing and collaboration transactions and venture capital investments.

Earlier in her legal career, Andrea practiced as an associate at Ropes & Gray in Boston and then Jones Day in Dallas, advising clients on a broad range of corporate and transactional matters.

Andrea holds a B.S. in Biology from Tufts University and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
