Abhinav Dhall

Abhinav Dhall joined Flagship Pioneering in 2025 as a Principal Scientist in Drug Discovery and Translational Research. As a member of the Pioneering Medicines team, he drives the translational strategy across multiple indications and modalities, working together with different Flagship platform companies.

Abhinav’s scientific journey started as an analytical and organic chemist, which inspired him to study the mechanism and activity of small-molecule inhibitors for a class of enzymes mediating epigenetic regulation in mammalian cells. His doctoral work focused on studying the cross-talk of histone PTMs (acetylation, methylation, ubiquitination) and their effect on transcriptional regulation and chromatin structure in the context of cancer development. He went on to do postdoctoral work in the field of epigenetics and metabolism, employing high-throughput cellular assays to discover a novel combination therapy for WNT-driven leukemias.

Abhinav previously worked at Vor Bio, where he focused on novel immunotherapies and cell and gene therapies as treatments for heme malignancies. He holds multiple patents from industry and academia and has co-authored publications in journals such as Nature, Cell, and PNAS.

Abhinav completed his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington, Seattle.
