Chief Information and Digital Officer
Remy Evard is the chief information and digital officer at Flagship Pioneering. He leads the development and execution of Flagship's digital technology strategy, which includes business analytics and insights into new company creation, identifying and developing digital and data-enabled capabilities across the Flagship ecosystem, and overseeing the IT infrastructure and operations within the company.
Remy has a history of applying cutting-edge computing technologies to enable science. Before joining Flagship, Remy was the global chief information officer at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research. During his eleven-year tenure at Novartis, he built and led the NIBR Informatics global organization, an IT, engineering, and data sciences group responsible for delivering and operating a world-wide and world-class informatics environment supporting all aspects of Novartis' biopharma research. There, he established industry-leading programs in cloud computing, scientific software development, data management and analysis, and machine learning.
Prior to his time at Novartis, Remy was the chief information officer at Argonne National Laboratory, a US Department of Energy laboratory with research-oriented missions in basic science, engineering, and facility operation. While at Argonne, he helped build some of the fastest computers on the planet used for scientific computing, led a computer security turnaround, and deployed global networks bringing together hundreds of academic and research sites.
Remy has B.S. degrees in computer science and in mathematics from Andrews University, an M.S. in computer science from the University of Oregon, and also received an Alliance Francaise while in college in Collonges, France.
