Prakash Raman is responsible for maximizing valuable business development and Pharma/Bio-Pharma partnerships across the Flagship Enterprise and Ecosystem. He engages with the scientific leadership of Pharma/Bio-Pharma companies, building trust-based strategic dialogues and leveraging the platforms and assets in Flagship’s network to generate opportunities for significant value creation.
Prakash spent nearly fourteen years at Novartis. Most recently, he was Vice President, Global Head of NIBR Business Development and Licensing, supporting Jay Bradner. During his time at Novartis, Prakash earned a reputation for being a creative, collaborative and pragmatic leader, as well as a culture creator and carrier who gets the best from his people through empowerment. A unique blend of scientist and deal maker, Prakash was the steady hand behind important strategic acquisitions and collaborations while at Novartis. Recently, he was instrumental in forging key collaborations in immuno-oncology, executing the acquisition of IFM-Tre and executing many out-licensing opportunities. And, as the leader of Novartis‘s Oncology BD&L team, Prakash helped guide the acquisitions of Selexys, AAA, and Endocyte, among his many contributions.
Prior to Novartis, Prakash spent six years as a Senior Scientist at Millennium Pharmaceuticals and two years as a PostDoc at The Scripps Research Institute. Prakash completed his undergraduate work at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and received his Ph.D. in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
