Michelle Quinn Smith

Senior Director of Human Resources

As part of Flagship’s Human Resources Leadership team, Michelle Quinn Smith focuses on human capital strategies inclusive of employee, culture and leadership development for early stage companies.

Michelle was most recently Global Human Resources Business Leader for Takeda Pharmaceuticals where she was responsible for the creation and execution of HR strategy for therapeutic development in R&D. During her tenure, she led the due diligence and integration of the ARIAD acquisition in 2017. Prior to Takeda, Michelle held positions of increasing responsibility in HR for Genzyme (later Sanofi) supporting R&D, Quality and global enabling functions. She also worked at PerSeptive Biosystems for several years. Prior to joining the biotech/pharma industry, Michelle worked at Goldman Sachs and Young & Rubicam Advertising in New York City. Michelle has distinguished herself as a progressive, strategic, global human resources professional aligning employee performance with business strategy, as well as having a deep expertise in change management, team effectiveness and employee development/coaching at all levels.

Michelle received a B.A. in History from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Horse Hugs for Heroes, a therapeutic animal non-profit organization based in Maryland.
