Matthew Cloyd

Matthew Cloyd joined Flagship Pioneering 2022 as the Director of Procurement Process and Technology Solutions and is responsible for creating and executing the digital strategy for the department.

Prior to joining Flagship, Mathew co-led R&D and Clinical Procurement for Moderna where he helped build automated case processing for Pharmacovigilance; re-designed the company’s Clinical Trial Management System; created a two-CRO model for Moderna studies over a five-year horizon; and helped leverage effective R&D spend for the company. Previously, Matthew worked at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research where he co-led the Pandemic Response team for global supply chain distribution; enhanced lab automation for the company’s Cambridge site; and implemented a hub and spoke distribution program on the Basel campus.

Matthew earned a B.S. in Business (Marketing) from University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth and holds numerous Procurement certificates including his CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and a Master Certificate in Advance Procurement Management from Michigan State University.
