Jamie Sharken
Communications and Public Affairs Project Specialist

Jamie Sharken is the Communications and Public Affairs Project Specialist at Flagship Pioneering. In this role, she helps coordinate events, team operations, and supports priority initiatives and projects.
Previously, Jamie worked at the Harvard Kennedy School as an Executive Assistant to the Center for Public Leadership’s Co-Directors, Professor Hannah Riley Bowles and former Massachusetts Governor, Deval Patrick. Prior to that, she was the Digital Communications Consultant at the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Making Caring Common Project. She was also the Managing Director of Kayyem Solutions, a consulting firm that provides strategic and operational advice in resiliency planning, risk management, mega-event security, infrastructure protection, and cybersecurity. Additionally, Jamie worked at Global Glimpse, a nonprofit organization that works with high schools to provide affordable travel experiences focused on service learning, cultural immersion, and leadership development.
Jamie is an advisory board member of the Pathway Initiative, whose mission is to increase access for talented and motivated African American, Hispanic, and Latino students to achieve their career potential in medicine and support their return to underserved communities to mitigate the shortage of clinicians.
Jamie is fluent in Spanish. She received a B.A. in Global Studies from the University of Vermont and a certificate of Digital Marketing from Digital House in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
